Joe Relich

Founder & Creative Director
Directs business, projects, and the team. Principal visual and UI/UX designer.

I graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Science and Technology, where I studied UI/UX, motion graphics, psychology, and education. In the past, I’ve worked as a matte painter, VFX artist, visual artist, concept designer, illustrator, and instructional designer.

My professional experience and education have given me a uniquely specialised skillset — I design bespoke digital interactive solutions with a high level of artistry, style, and practicality.

As the business and team leader, I value professional experience, continuous improvement, organisational skills, humility, and persistence.

At SPADES INTERACTIVE, I want to create solutions that never fail to impress and bring bold, new ideas to every project. I want to keep learning, keep improving, and most importantly, enjoy the journey with the friends I work with, making every part of our work meaningful, fun, and fulfilling.

Mint

Producer & Digital Designer
Manages production pipeline and digital media specialists.

I’ve worked with Mint since 2017 when I was an Academic Manager at Victory Institute. She was a trainer teaching our Certificate IV and Diploma of Screen and Media classes. This was when I first observed Mint’s extremely varied and highly developed skillset. I was particularly impressed with her 3D skills — she can model, animate, rig, and light. We’ve worked together in various roles since, and during this time, I’ve realised her most powerful skill is to rapidly become proficient in any new digital tool.

Mint is humble, kind, incredibly organised, and phenomenally talented. We’re very lucky to have her in the team!

Hannah Jaket

Hannah and I first worked together in 2023 while at Cognition Evolve. Together, we delivered projects to some of the biggest brands in Australia. For projects with numerous moving parts, tough deadlines, and a need to impress, we never failed to deliver.

I believe Hannah’s secret to learning design is her empathy. She works with brands to deeply understand how their audience thinks and feels, then designs innovative experiences that are specifically engaging to that audience.

Hannah is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She loves to laugh, is always positive, and is an excellent problem solver. Our team is so much brighter having her on board!

Digital Education Specialist
Conducts learning needs analyses and designs learning experiences.

“As a blind person, my access to education and development opportunities was often limited. That lived experience drives my passion for learning design today. I want to remove barriers and build the kind of impactful and accessible learning that creates lifelong learners. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, tabletop games, and baking.”

EXTENDED TEAM

We bring in specialists and editors when their specific and highly practiced skillsets are required. We have worked extensively with our extended team and value their organisational skills, professional experience, collaboration, and the quality of their work.

Digital Specialists

Video editors, videographers, 3D artists, graphic designers, and developers.

Working with myself and Mint, our digital specialists create content in line with visual style guides, wireframes, and mockups. They are usually brought in during the production phase, but we often consult with them during pre-production. This also allows them to make preparations for production.

Copy Editors

Specialising in interactive solutions and digital media.

As part of our commitment to polish, our copy editors review all written content during post-production phase. They are proficient at working in digital media, so make edits directly into solutions. In addition to typical editing tasks, they also produce CCs (closed captions), subtitles, alt-text, and manage editorial style guides.
